This document governs your access to and use of SWG Path of Destiny (the "Server"), an online multiplayer role-playing game service. By creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them in full before registering.
§01
Acceptance of Terms
By registering an account, connecting to the Server, or otherwise using any related services, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not register an account or use the Server.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and the operator of the Server ("we," "us," "our").
§02
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
We may refuse registration or require additional verification at our discretion, including to comply with applicable law.
§03
Account Registration
To play, you must create an account using a valid email address and a username that does not impersonate another person, infringe on any trademark, or contain offensive language.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- One account per player unless we explicitly permit otherwise (e.g., for testing or staff purposes).
- You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
§04
Data We Collect
To operate the Server and keep it fair for everyone, we collect the following information when you register and play:
- Account information — your username and email address, used for login, password recovery, and important service notices.
- Technical and anti-cheat data — your IP address, device/hardware identifiers, and client session data, used to detect cheating, multi-accounting used to evade bans, and abuse of the Server.
- Gameplay data — in-game actions, chat logs, and progression data, used for moderation, support, and improving the Server.
Why we collect anti-cheat data: IP and device information is used specifically to identify ban evasion, botting, and account sharing that undermines fair play. It is not sold, and it is not used to advertise to you.
For full details on retention, storage, and your rights over this data, see our separate Privacy Policy. This section is a summary, not a substitute for it.
§05
Player Conduct
The Server is a shared space. You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other players or staff.
- Use cheats, bots, third-party automation tools, exploits, or unauthorized modifications that give an unfair advantage.
- Attempt to disrupt the Server, including through denial-of-service attacks, packet manipulation, or exploiting bugs for personal gain rather than reporting them.
- Buy, sell, or trade accounts, or share your account credentials with others.
- Buy, sell, or trade in-game items, credits, or character leveling services for real-world money or other compensation outside the game.
- Impersonate staff or misrepresent your affiliation with the Server.
- Post or transmit illegal content, or content that sexualizes or otherwise endangers minors.
Enforcement. Violations of this section may result in enforcement action up to and including permanent account termination. Where conduct violates applicable law — including content that sexualizes or endangers minors — we may report the matter to law enforcement and cooperate with any resulting investigation or criminal proceedings.
§06
Anti-Cheat & Enforcement
We use automated and manual review, including IP and device analysis described in §04, to detect violations of these Terms. Depending on severity, we may issue a warning, temporarily suspend, or permanently ban an account, and may extend enforcement action to associated accounts identified through shared IP or device signals when there is reasonable evidence of ban evasion or multi-accounting abuse.
Enforcement decisions are at our discretion. Given the nature of anti-cheat detection, we are not able to disclose the specific technical signals behind an enforcement action. You may appeal a ban through the contact method in §14.
§07
Game Content & Intellectual Property
Star Wars Galaxies, its characters, world, and all related Star Wars branding and intellectual property are owned by Lucasfilm Ltd. and its affiliates. The underlying game code and engine were originally developed by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) / Daybreak Game Company. We do not own or claim any rights to this game, its code, or its assets.
What we actually own: First Order Gaming owns and operates only this website, its administrative tools, and any original content, branding, or code we created specifically for the Server's website and community — not the underlying game itself.
SWG Path of Destiny is a non-profit, fan-operated emulator, not affiliated with or endorsed by Lucasfilm, Disney, Sony Online Entertainment, or Daybreak Game Company. Your account gives you a personal, non-transferable license to access and play on the Server — it does not transfer ownership of any game content, code, or intellectual property to you or to us.
Any content you create within the game (character names, guild names, in-game text) must not infringe on third-party rights, and you grant us a license to store, display, and moderate that content as part of operating the Server.
§08
No Purchases / Free to Play
The Server is free to play. We do not sell in-game items, currency, character progression, or subscriptions, and no payment is required to register or play. If this changes in the future, these Terms will be updated and you will be notified before any purchase functionality is introduced.
Donations. We may accept voluntary donations to help cover hosting and operating costs. Donations are optional and non-refundable, and do not grant any in-game benefit, advantage, priority, or exclusive access of any kind. The Server remains free and equal for all players regardless of donation status.
§09
Service Availability
We aim to keep the Server available and stable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Server may be taken offline for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features — or the Server as a whole — at any time.
Character progress, items, and account data are maintained on a best-effort basis. While we take reasonable steps to protect game data, we do not guarantee against data loss due to technical failure, wipes tied to major updates, or similar events, and will provide notice where practical.

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Server is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Server, including loss of in-game progress or items.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
§11
Termination
You may stop using the Server and delete your account at any time through your account dashboard on the website. Account deletion may have in-game requirements that must be met before it can be completed, including transferring leadership of any guild you lead to another member, and resolving any active auction listings or bids tied to your characters.
Account deletion is permanent. Once completed, your characters, items, and account data cannot be recovered — including if the deletion was accidental, or performed by someone other than you (for example, through unauthorized access to your account). You are responsible for your account's security and for confirming account deletion is genuinely what you want before completing it. First Order Gaming staff bear no responsibility for accidental account deletions or for deletions resulting from a compromised account. We do not retain a backup of deleted account data and cannot restore it under any circumstances.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, at our discretion, with or without notice depending on severity. We may also cancel your account at our discretion, for any reason.
§12
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Server evolves. Material changes will be announced through the Server's website, launcher, or Discord (as applicable) before they take effect. Continued use of the Server after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of The State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless applicable local law requires otherwise.
